This is a photo series I've been working on since my lil guy was first born. I bought him "Slothy" and took his first photo with him, just to track his growth. I never intended for it to become an annual production, but as the years have gone on we're making the photo sessions a bit more interesting and geared towards his interests. This past year, with much practice (and patience!) from my husband, we managed to get Slothy diving to save the "top bins" as our now seven year old calls it. No AI here folks... just a lot of tossing of the stuffy and me getting wailed with the football at various moments! It actually was such a great time! We worked so hard at this photo that we completely forgot to do his back to school photos! Last year we went for a walk in East Kilbride and found ourselves some horsey pals and a fun gate to play on. At six, this was the first year he was desperate to dress himself and there were zero compromises. I'm obsessed with his shades, which are now in several pieces at the bottom of a drawer! It's already time to start considering next year. I wonder what Slothy will get up to for eight?

If you have a young kiddo or are planning, I really think this is a wonderful way to document their size! I look back on these photos all the time and I'm just amazed at how much he's grown - and that Slothy still has his head in tact! There are definitely some leaves still stuck in his fur which will most likely remain a permanent addition. This isn't something you need to do with a professional photographer. Make it fun, start off monthly from day one (if you can manage) having a baby is no joke! I was day three at home and even then, I just plopped the Sloth in the cradle and used my iphone next to a window. I was in no state to be doing that, although it definitely gets easier! You have all the equipment you need to craft a monthly, and annual size photo. All you need is some window light and your stuffy of choice!
