For the first time in a few years we had the most glorious summer! I’m hoping it continues, but let’s be realistic. Living in Glasgow can be quite unpredictable. Understatement! Just yesterday we had four wild seasons on constant rotation! 

So what do we do when your photo session has been in the books for awhile and the picture perfect day turns into something less than desirable? 

The first choice is to simply go ahead with the original plan… so long as it isn’t blowin’ a hoolie of course! Many of us have gorgeous outdoor clothing, so even if you don’t have something in your closet - maybe I do, maybe your friend does - we will ensure you’re all feeling your best and create beautiful family photographs from a day you will remember.

A second choice is to alter the location! Pop on a pair of fabulous wellies and we’ll bring a cute brolly, and lets go for a walk around town. Glasgow is definitely not lacking for cozy spots! We can take a stroll to your nearest cafe, where you can snuggle up with a warm drink, and maybe a wee biscuit (or four!) Then we’ll take a wander back home and splash through puddles. What a fantastic way to burn off some energy, and reward the little ones for being absolute rockstars during their session! No matter the weather, we will be certain to capture some stunning memories.

The third option to manage the unsuitable weather is to just stay home! This is always something we need to discuss, because in addition to getting yourself ready - you also need to prepare your space! Not for the next Scottish Home of the Year, unless you want to, but it will need to be tidy. We can photograph anywhere in your house with suitable lighting. Some of my favourite photographs have been from peoples bathrooms and hallways!

The final option is to pray that the backup date is more cooperative! I always secure a second date for this reason. Sometimes we have a run of bad luck and it rains for three months solid (autumn 2024 really tested our roof repairs) Other times, we simply dodge the droplets between weekends!

However a family decides to manage a photo session, we will be sure to create beautiful images from a memorable day! This is after all, your day! I’m simply capturing the beautiful moments you naturally create yourselves.
